Product Description
Until now we didn't wanted to carry any allsorts licorice - this well-known licorice confectionery mix. Most of them have been just too sweet when we tried them or they are using cheap licorice pieces. But now we tasted the Icelandic version of it. And we are amazed!Known in Iceland for ages, it is simply the best allsorts we ever tasted! This is the famous licorice candy enjoyed by the English in Icelandic called Lakkriskonfekt. Invented over a century ago, now even better with the Icelandic touch.
The assortment of not-too-chewy, melt-in-your-mouth bites, includes licorice quarters, rolls, triangles and all elevated with the buttery licorice and sweet marzipan* that is made to perfection by Sambo in Iceland. In addition to the regular Sambo Lakkriskonfekt, this Lakkriskonfekt Mix contains also the Licorice Balls in white and yellow (Chocolate and Chocolate + Caramel) and sometimes also Kullu Sukk which is also a chocolate covered licorice. But this member of the Lakkriskonfekt just doesn't show every day at work. So it is kindof an elevated Lakkriskonfekt (Allsorts).
* Funny side note: the pieces that we call confect are called marzipan in Iceland, but it is not the same as the German marzipan made out of almonds.
